Well chaps, first of all, I'm very happy as VM have now done the switchover and I'm getting awesome 60mb download speed.:) But my upload speed is just under 3mbps. Considering I was getting 1mbps upload speed on my previous 10mb connection, shouldn't I be getting 6 times faster upload speed, like around 6mbps? Also, note the screenshot giving me 67mb download, how does that happen when I'm only expecting 60mb? Also, which speed test site do you trust the most? There's one site that is showing me the same upload speed of 2.9mbps but only 28mbps download, so I'm guessing that's a rubbish speed test.

Virgin raised the caps to allow themp to still advertise the broadband package as 60mb. This is to meet with the new advertising guidelines.

Wait for a few days, the upload speed should bring itself to 6mb. If not, call Virgin up.

I don't know, because I've just seen on the virgin help forum where someone going from 20mb XL to 60mb was asking if he'd get 6mbps upload, and a VM forum team member answered "If you have only changed the modem and not upgraded the package, then no, your upload speed will be 3mb"

So what does that mean? I've changed the modem and will be paying £4.50 more for 60mb, so does that qualify me as having 'upgraded the package'? I don't have TV or phone, only internet with VM, so I don't know what qualifies as 'package'.

Just did some wi-fi speed tests between superhub and my laptop. Getting between 49 and 60mb download, and one site reported 2.7mb upload. But all the other speed sites are coming back with an error, unable to read upload speed. Something wrong with the superhub wi-fi?

Its exactly as it should be. 30mps will have a 1-3mbps upload, 60 has 3mbps, and 100 has 10mbps.

VM have increased the download speeds but have not increased the upload speeds of the broadband yet so you gotta wait for channel bonding to go online I'm afraid.

The reason why 30mbps has a variety of uploads is just dependant on which service was doubled ie 10 or 20mbps. the pre doubled 30mbps package will still be 3mbps though.

Hope my jibberish makes sense

Channel bonding is where they use multiple upstream or downstream channels to allow faster speeds.

Your hub at the moment will most likely have 4 or 5 downstream channels and 1 upstream. When the bonding is complete you will have I think 4 upstream channels.

They are in the process of upgrading the equipment. I got an email regarding it the other day and I'm sure it said it was coming at the end of the month but not sure. Also because it is a nationwide upgrade it could be done 1 area at a time so I wouldn't hold your breath for it happening anytime soon, lets say quarter 4 of the year. If it happens before then its a bonus i guess :)
