You will see my general specs from my sig. I am tempted with one of the following both conroe:
A mobo bundle that has CPU, fan, heatsink and memory installed OR a nice new case barebones with the above already installed and all I do is swap my "parts" from old into new.

I have upgraded many componants in the past such as DVDRW, Ram PSU and graphics but not yet installed mobo or CPU. So Im not sure which of my options barebones or mobo bundle will give less heartache. Part of me thinks just drop the mobo in and connect it all up and reformat. (But concerned about connection usb etc up as in where the hell do I plug em in) Where the barebones all thats done and I just swap PSU, HDD, DCRW etc over and reformat.

Thoughts please on easiest option. Cost wise the amount is small between the two.

A bundle wouldn't have anything preinstalled would it? You would still have to everything yourself no matter which option!

It really is easy to do so there absolutely no need to worry. Just follow the instructions in your motherboard manual and you can't go wrong. Pretty much every cable and wire and component can only go in one way so it is quite a feat to **** something up :D

Bundles with stuff pre-installed tend to be bad value, it is so easy to do yourself there is no need to limit your options, heck even thermal paste is often pre-applied to the heatsink :D

really doing the cpu, ram etc onto the motherboard is just slotting it together, so long as you dont stand on/drop it your fine

the hardest part for me is geting the stuff into and out the case, my case seems really stiff :/

I thought the following was good value:
MSI Intel 975X PCI Express mobo
Intel E6600 Conroe retail
1Gb Ram albeit not 800mhz
Thermaltake VA3000BNA Tsunami Dream SuperMidi Aluminium Tower - Black (CA-012-TT) with psu that I dont need for under £500

i hoep your not planning to do overclocking, i originally ordered the intel board but apparently it has next to no overclocking features whatsoever
