My wife says that I am weird because I cannot drink from a cup or glass unless it has been thoroughly dried.

For example I go into kitchen for glass of water and there is a glass on drainer that has recently been rinsed out. I have to dry the glass before I use it.

Anybody else like this?

No, but I do need to ensure that if it is a clean one from the draining board that I rince it for soap bubbles.

The glass being wet on the inside doesn't bother me, I wipe the outside. Ring marks. ;)

You're going to make it wet anyway by pouring water into it.

I still wouldn't say weird though. Everyone has these sorts of habits.

I would dry it to stop it the water dripping on my desk / clothes

Next time if she thinks you're doing something weird, tip the glass over her and say it's just another one of the weird things you do, and the next time you dry your glass she won't say a word :p

My wife thinks I'm a little strange because I visually check the ceilings and corners of room whenever I walk into one, and she says I'm paranoid in crowds also, she reckons that I'm too serious and scary on the tube.

I say its a pretty serious and scary place to be, and you can never be too careful.

would this not just be old occupation habits then?

I still have never been on any sort of tube as of yet so cant comment there!

Yeah probably, I do it without even thinking. I must admit I can't help it, especially assessing risk in crowds. It's been 10 years but I will probably do it 'till I die.

I see this as just a mild form of obsessive-compulsive. Pretty much everybody does it, in their own way. Like I need to check 2 or 3 times that I have locked my front door before I leave the house, or having to repeatedly check that my mobile phone is switched off.
