At the end of the black boot up screen with the scrolling bar, just before the welcome screen appears?

I've had a couple of random BSODs at exactly this point and was thinking that it might be a driver issue as this is when the PJ switches to the selected res.
 
Can't be sure really, but I think it loads as the desktop loads. My system started giving a black screen soon after the desktop apeared, just for a second or so, and then the task bar is 'rewritten'. This started to happen after I'd updated the gfx drivers, and it's around the time the CCC logo appears in the system tray.
