My H80 is messing around as per my other thread

Its put me off getting another one - even though I have been very happy with the cooling performance.
I need a v good cpu cooliong solution as i run fairly high volts for a 4.8 oc on a 2600k

I looked at this as an alternative - as it seems a simple out and in.

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=WC-040-OE

I have no real plans at this stage to go water on gpus or anything and want to concentrate on a v good cpu coolign solution

all opinions are welcome - I cannot afford to waste money atm, but need to get somethign sorted soon

Thans

that rad wont cut it. certainly on a oveclocked cpu. build your own loop and get something like a EX 360 rad. that should be enough to cool a overclocked 2600k

a H80 cools it on less surely though?

I have limited budget - v limited knowledge of building a loop and no space for a double rad really hence why i was looking at the single

We've been through this on the other thread mate.
Your not going to see any huge benefits over the H80 using your linked product. It's basically the same thing.

The alternative is the obvious Corsair H100 which can be had cheaper than this kit! (I dropped mine for the H100!)

If however you do want to go the custom water route - I'd recommend getting one with a 240 (or even 280) radiator for better performance ;)

PS - Thats taking into account you have the same case as me - corsair 650D

Dont u have two 120mm front fans in your case? put a 240 rad their. alternatively you can out the rad outside externally. OR learn how to use a jigsaw/dremel and start cutting

my problem is with my sli - it generates maximum heat that is all pumped into my case

I only have my 200 mm exhaust fan on the top and I need an exhaust therefore cant have a double rad there, the single rad on the 120mm hole at the back will fit obviously

I am not looking to outperform a H80 - i was happy with with it except its gone faulty in a couple of months so I was looking for something more reliable

An external rad is maybe an option - but how do you screw it down?
I am Not cutting up my 650D - that is madness!!

my 650D is about 3 months old - is a top rated case, why would I buy a new one - ist the cooler design on the gtx 580s that doesnt make any sense really for sli

Now there is a mesh side panel I will look to get that and there will be a new air intake - either way I will still need an exhaust

more help on an external rad option please?
