Well i have a 32bit ultimate vista system running on 4gb of ram on a laptop

Control panel show its on 3020mb while bios shows 4gb ram

Also my graphic card is using 756mb of shared memory + 256 of itself which makes it 1gb in all (8600m gs)

Is the laptop using 4gb ram? since the os is reading 3gb memory while i have 4gb will this inflict with the 756mb shared turbo cache ?

I heard from some tech that u can put some sort of command in 32bit vista to make it actually read full 4gb ram sticks and run it on 36bit

Doesnt turbo cache work on 32 bit vista?:S bdw right now i am trying to order a 64 bit vista via the low fee offer of microsoft ..i hope they accept since i got my version from the goverment

Mine is not working for now...lets say i manage to get vista 64 bit from microsoft...will i have any issues with the current software or games in the market? or a lot of 64bit bugs were fixed?

x64 is as stable as 32bit. Just be sure that you can get drivers for all your hardware before installing it.

Its an xxodd laptop uses basic soundcard audio and it drivers i think supports 64bit too (mb graphic card etc) since the cpu supports them too (from the cd)

I take it that it's a pretty new laptop?

x64 Vista will probably have most of the drivers built-in. Tho you'll be better updating them after installing Vista anyway.

Just be sure to download and stick the x64 network driver on a CD just in case its not on the Vista DVD.

The only problem i have is that the freaking site is all in german and when i got on to driver section and choose my laptop series there is only a manual i can download and not the drivers..there is nothing on the driver cd that says if it supports 64bit too or not i dont know but this lap was particularly built for vista so i think that the driver cd does work for 64 bit os too...Well so know all i could do is just get a 64 bit os and hope that the drivers on the cd support 64 bit os? or could this be that since they are new there is no need to put downloaded drivers on ther site?

And bdw do u mean the drivers of the network card?

with the 768mb shared on vista , its vistas built in version of turbocache, works on any card but once it starts getting used can dramatically reduce performance of the card, it doesnt take away 768mb from use, it only uses it when needed. with problems with 64-bit over 32, they are only driver related as far as i can tell, with a lot of cheaper products not using signed drivers to keep costs down, i have had no problems with it on my system with any of my games.

with missing drivers, once vista is installed run windows update and it will download any missing drivers from microsoft, altho it is recommended to dl the latest nVidia drivers for the 8600

Problem is as i said the drivers are not on the xxodd site :P so the only ones i have are the ones of the cd wich include all the drivers ofc.. i will email xxodd and explain myproblem

Never min the e-mail part i can understand a word in german..Why the hell would some company not the an english website to if they ship to other countries ...omg
