After being on the sound threads from the other day and people telling me that onboard sound isnt much good. I decided to have a look around for a second hand sound card. Now i know my speakers are poor in comparison to the expensive ones. i have the Creative Inspire 5300's 5.1. Now my question is, ive just been offered a sound card. Now the sound card is 7.1 not 5.1. does this matter at all. And mainly is the card ive been offered worth what they are asking. This is the card. http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=SC-002-AS&groupid=701&catid=11&subcat= and they said i can have it for 30 pounds. but i reckon i could get it for 25. Would this alone improve my sound? would it be worth the upgrade?
Thanks for the help guys.

Yes, good buy at £30 and even better at £25.

Make sure you have a spare PCI-E slot though. Otherwise you could get a Xonar DG for just £20 (PCI).

Yes, I've seen the DX go for £30 on OcUK Members Market so £25 is a great price depending on the card being in full working order.
