As thread title. Mrs N. got a ticket for parking here - alongside the bin. As the line is broken & practically non existant (there's no other signage) is it enforcable?

IMO - No - because you can clearly compare it with the fresh yellow line at the bottom, which looks like it ends, rather than it continuing on

If it ended it would have a yellow line across it like the white one. Still worth challenging the ticket though.

Stupid place to park though, I mean look at the other side of the picture - hatchmarkings in the centre of the road where it appears to narrow. Parking there would surely force cars to cross these?

Yes, that would be the junction wth a main road!

My understanding is if it is broken it is not enforceable.

That was mine too. Just wanted to confirm.
Anyone know the legalities that I could quote when we contest it?

It clearly is, there's barely any line left at all.

where's the break?
It's wet, leafs and a picture and you can still see the line.

It's not like the last thread where they had done road works and the line wasn't there at all. Which he did get the ticket overturned.

Challenge it, but I wouldn't say that line is broken.

There's a large part where there clearly is no line and id say when there's more tarmac than there is line its safe to say its broken as well.

As i mentioned above though, if there's signs as well as the "lines", then its unlikely they'll consider a challenge to the charge.

You'll probably get away with it if you contest it, but I'd ask you to please speak to your other half and tell her to use common sense when parking near a junction.
