is time linear?

If we had a tall person vs a short person running a 100m race, each finishing at exactly the same time to an observer. They each wear a watch synchronized at exactly the same height before the race. Would the taller person's watch show a different time after the race had finished?
Yes.

Also, would the observer record a different time if he were standing higher up?

Not sure. I think so, but i cant claim to understand how it works at all.

People assume that time is a strict progression from cause to effect. But actually from a non-linear non-subjective view point its mor a big ball of Wibbly Wobbly Timey Wimey stuff.

time is a man made concept therefore its completely subjective to its current interpretation/perception.

is time linear or is there some truth in the old saying time speeds up as you get older and most people agree time does seem to go faster the older you get don't they? what if time is speeding up what does that even mean will it increase at an exponential rate?

discuss.

your talking about two different things:

- time itself can be argued to be linear, but there is a lot of speculation

- time relative to a person is proportional to the time that they have been alive

e.g. one day when your 5 feels like a lot longer than one day when your 80

Whether you accept Time is Linear or Cyclical depends largely on your philosophical and/or cultural background....

Perception as to the passage of time is not the same as Linear Time, and as Panyan has said it depends on your relative experience as to how fast time passes, although that is not only dependant on age as Panyan suggests, but also individual experience, basically if you fill your life with lots of different experiences it will seem a longer period in hindsight than if you have a very routine life........

No.
