Is TN hard to stomach?

Coming from IPS to TN, is it hard to get used to? What would I miss out on and what would I gain?

I would like to stick with IPS but choices are quite limited with what I'd want from a monitor so considering TN.

Hmm, you're not selling it lol.

Are they gaming biased? I mean are they perhaps less of a wise choice if it's more of an all round monitor I'm after, rather than a specific gaming focussed requirement?

What features do you want from a monitor?

It's not set in stone but seeing as I seem to stick with last gen top end cards for gaming rather than having the latest and greatest I was thinking g-sync would be really useful. I was thinking of maybe going to a 980ti when Pascal is fully released, you get the idea.

I was also considering jumping from 1200p to 1440p, so I had in mind originally 27" 1440p g-sync IPS but obviously that option is very limited.

I game almost exclusively with v-sync on because I seem really sensitive to the slightest of screen tearing.

Thanks for the input, more than I expected TBH.

I think given that a) I'm more on the casual gaming side these days, combined with b) Not playing any sort of super cereal FPS games, has me leaning towards sticking with IPS. My usage is probably 50/50 between gaming and browsing/movie/TV show watching.

I just wish 1440p IPS g-sync was a more common (and cheaper!) thing. I guess I just wait and see what comes or take the plunge on one of the 1440p non g-sync IPS screens...

Hmm, I've not noticed any back light bleed and this glow people talk of, I'm not saying it's not there but maybe I've just become accustomed to it.

I'd probably need a TN panel next to my current monitor so I could identify it.

I am seriously tempted by the g-sync Dell...
