Ok i need advice.

All this talk of the new ATI cards has got my mouth watering when it really shouldnt. Assuming i can get a fair price for my 8800GTX i'm very tempted to get a 4780 (depending on availability and price). The thing is i don't really know whether its worth it. Ive seen so many mixed benchmarks. Some show the 4850 as a fair bit better than the 8800 gtx and some show it to be almost the same ( or about 1-2 frames better).

Is it really worth it? Also would it be worth getting the 1GB as apposed to the 512mb versions?

Anyone else made or planning to make the jump form a GTX to a 4870?

Exactly. I'm pretty confident i could get near £150 which would make upgarding costs only about £50/£60.

I'm just wondering whether its worth it.

You guys reckon the 4870 will be significantly faster than the 4850's?
 
It must be significantly faster than the 4850 because otherwise the line-up wouldn't make sense and they wouldn't sell any, everyone would just get the 4850 instead. For exact numbers you'll just have to wait till wednesday for the reviews.
