Is using a LCD tv as monitor not the best thing

hi guys, I am thinkig of changin my 5/4 19' lcd monitor for something bigger...
and I was wondering are proper monitor better than LCD TV

And if yes I'd like to know why?

I've just read that post, I understand now. It does make perfect sense

TV are meant to be watched from a sofa, so no need for high detail when you are close to it. cheers

you could buy the LCD monitor of your choice, then buy a DVB-T card or DVB-T USB stick and your monitor now doubles as a TV, although having said that,
Freeview channels in SD are mediocre in terms of quality but OK if you just want to veg out on the sofa to watch some mind-numbing Xfactor or whatever.
