Is Vista a boot sector hog?

My installation of XP seems to have gone up the swanny. If I install the RC1 version of Vista will it overwrite my boot sector entirely, ie GRUB and leave me needing to reinstall GRUB again so that I can see my Linux partition? Or, will it see my Linux partition and write a boot menu that includes it?

It will wipe out your Grub bootloader just like XP did. If you install Vista after you've installed your Linux OS you'll need to boot a live CD or have a bootloader on a floppy so you can access your Linux partition. From there you can instruct it to reinstall Grub. Grub will let you boot different flavors of Windows and Linux.
