It's my birthday and while I was going to buy a gpu anyways I just got lucky on a r9 270x dual fan on the bay and won it for £73(77 with postage), 2nd cheapest one, the first going for £52 and I lost by a quid lol.

Anyways I have never heard of the brand and wondering if I've done good? Going from a 750 to a 560sc to a 270x will be very good that's for sure ha.

Edit: sorry make that VTX3D and it's a gdrr5 model if there's 2 versions.

Happy birthday!

VTX3D is one of the good brands, you shouldn't have issues. Price is pretty good for that card too.

if vtx3d is one of the good brands, what are the bad brands :D ?

anyway VTX3D is ok it's basicaly powercolor brand, same cooler, and wont really matter 270 doesnt need top notch cooler to function correctly.

I tried VTX3D with a 7850 several years ago and sadly I got sent a duffer, The replacement was also a duffer but I think that's just my usual brand of luck more than the company, They were replacements for an ASUS DCUII 560ti that took a psu with it the day I bought that, all new purchases too. 3's a charm eh. The simple answer is to try it when you get it and if it works it works, As mentioned it's not a chip that demands a lot from the cooler so as long as it's acting like it should on day one I wouldn't of thought there's any worry.
The thing that puts me off buying secondhand is the fact that you don't know how hard a life it's had but at least you know it's run in :).

Had a vtx3d 7970. Worked fine and was lucky with the chip lottery. It's basically just a power colour rebranded.

Never had to use their customer support tho.

I had a vtx3d 7950 x-edition. Cooler felt a bit flimsy, but it cooled well and I had no problems with the card.

thanks for replies guys and the happy birthday.

i didnt realise it was mainly cooler preference, i thought it was its own company lol which is why ive never heard of them.

anyways here it is, came this morning, but been busy so in box still, had to blow some dust out, but all looks in top shape.

while i understand about buying 2nd hand more so at these prices and beyond, other than a 6850 barton i have never had any problems with used graphics cards, not anything worth mentioning anyways, any that have failed have either been agp or really old dx9 cards, my 560 superclock has been spot on the week ive owned it and had even overclocked it a bit till last night and still no dramas, only standard clocks now for making game test videos.
