Is wanting a drink a bad thing?

I only started drinking Alcohol when I was 17, I am glad I never gave in when most of my mates where drinking on the streets, I am 23 now and go out about twice a month, going to Magaluf in 4 weeks and that is 13 days of constent drinking.

You have ruined what is a great social past time, Was your liver damaged when you got poisoning.

wanting a drink = fine
wanting the alcohol != fine (imo)

if you want a drink, it's just a relaxing, comforting thing...a nice chill out.

if you want the alcohol, you're only after the effects of the alcohol, and that indicates to me that you might get dependant again.

best of luck with your decision, mate :)

There's nothing wrong with enjoying a drink IMO. There's far too much stigma nowadays.

If you want it, have it, even do it to excess at times. Unless it starts to affect your state of mind, your health or your life in general, it's all good :).

Agreed. The world is a better place drunk, people are funnier and better looking!

As long as you know your limit I don't see a problem!

Again? Lets not get carried away here - I used to drink like a rugby player, not like an alcoholic!

Having now slept on it, Im just in the frame of mind that its just like a chocolate bar - lots of people think to themselves "I would quite like a chocolate bar" but cant decide on a mars bar / caramel / whatever. Its like that, and nothing more sinister than that.

Thanks guys for helping me think that one through :)

None taken - I didnt see any intended and there wasnt anything there to offend me anyway!

I cant think of an analogy for it to explain, other than a chocolate bar. I guess I just feel odd because I no longer want to go out of my way not to drink any more.
