Is wifi 6 much better than wifi 5 ? ANy recomomendations

It's a bit quicker under some circumstances, but still uses 5ghz frequency.

Wifi 6E is what I expect most customer think Wifi 6 is. Wifi 6E actually utilizes the 6ghz frequency, so you get data being transmitted at 2.4ghz, 5ghz and 6ghz - so should be a fair bit faster than previous wifi generations.

WiFi6 should be significantly faster in environments with lots of slow 2.4GHz devices thanks to OFDMA because it no longer runs at the speed of the slowest device connected to the access point.

In WiFi5 if you have a device that can only run at 10Mbps and the rest of your wireless devices can do 300Mbps the entire network will run at 10 Mbps. You very rarely see anything that extreme but if you have 100Mbps devices and 200Mbps devices everything runs at the slowest speed.

WiFi6 also doesn’t slow down the WiFi6 clients if you have WiFi5 clients attached as well.

WiFi6 is good upgrade if you have lots of IoT devices as well as faster overall transmission rates With WiF6 devices.

But if you have 4x4 WiFi5 clients it is possible to get very good throughputs without WiFi6.

One thing to note with wifi6e is that line of sight is king. The signal is easily disrupted and it’s pretty much toast through a single wall, even a stud wall (the higher the frequency, the less penetration).
