Is windows better at running flash than Mac?

I was running a flash based program on my mac book 2ghz core 2 duo 1gb ram, it stuttered at points and when I launched the app monitor it showed flash was nearly maxing out both processors and all the ram.

I want to run the program and so use a spare pc I have, however its an old beast. AMD Opteron single core OC'ed to 2.7ghz and 1gb of DDR, is the flash program going to stutter and die worse than it does on my mac?

Yes, Apple despise Flash and will take any opportunity to make sure it isn't a part of the "mac experience", even though other devices handle it just fine.

Ah it was running through a web window in safari. Could explain it.

Almost certainly. And Flash 10.2 supports hardware acceleration in IE9 on Windows.

So if I download IE9 and flash 10.2 then it will run better than on IE6 which I am on now?

Nout used the machine really since getting a laptop about three years ago, now it can come in use as my skyplayer/iplayer/NBA player machine leaving my mac free.
