my work mate was saying that since Aug 6th Windows 7 has been available to download from the works select agreement MS download site, however no keys are available, he was told by some licensing guy that windows 7 licensing is not available until October 22nd, which is my understanding, but some people on here seem to have the full version?

Where I work has an Enterprise agreement, we renewed our license a few days before W7 was scheduled to appear.

W7 Professional (and upgrade) are there now, but no keys either, I've been told by our licensing partner to keep checking it over the course of the next few days...

I also think (though i've not verified) W7 Enterprise should appear at some point.

In the Gold parnter program there is a key for Win7 enterprise but no download yet.

I had to call them about something else yesturday and asked about it. It's due for US release on the parnter network tomorrow, so I'll be getting that for me work PC then :D

yeah same here however the licensing people say no licence until oct 22nd, which i guess is right for home use, however i think this is incorrect for enterprise/select agreement folks. why would they release the versions?

We're on Enterprise Agreement with Software Assurance.

Our KMS key for 7 was up at the beginning of August, the images were available for download on Friday evening last week and the MAK key was made available sometime on Monday this weeks.

We're in the process of setting up a KMS server, but in the meantime have used 10 MAK activations (of 5000 usable) to run it on 2nd and 3rd line Engineers' laptops. All going swimmingly so far.

ok this is where i'm lost, what is the MAK key? as this is next to the download and there is a click button to request one?

MAK is basically the same as a VLK key for XP. It stands for Multiple Activation Key. KMS requires you to run a Key Management Server which will authenticate your OS, this would be done internally at your company.

ok thanks mate, still waiting to hear back from our reseller, as he said we can't buy a MAK yet. however on the download site Win7 is there and next to it there is a button saying request a MAK key, however my work bud who is in charge wont press the button as he does not know if we are covered ..... if it was me i would press it and see what happens! :D

When you're on the VL site, and you go to the page with the CD-Keys on, don't forget to look right at the bottom for the small Page 2 link, a lot of people miss it and dont realise the Win7 keys can be (depend how many you have listed) on page 2

Slightly OT but need to vent. Windows 7 for MSDN Academic Alliance as been out along with the other Technet members only, we have to wait until the admin for our university activates it.
