is xbox live down?

Hi peeps.

got me an xbox 360 today and am trying to sign up to live but i get a far as downloading updates then after about 10mins of the same screen it says xbox live is unavailable.

anyone else having trouble connecting?

You need to check you have your router and 360 setup correctly. XBL is up and working fine. There's some guides on the XBox site for making sure you're set up correctly.

seems to have started working but got half way through signing up and it said unavailable again..

are you on sky BB?, quite a few people having probs with xbl and the dashboard in the last couple of days.
