XMP is the overclocked profile that's rated above the usual JEDEC. If you just want to enable one setting instead of setting the speed/timings/voltage manually to the rated specs, then yes.
Just saves a lot of time, remember when ya had to manually input all your timings then gradually lowering them down untill ya got them to a decent speed, with XMP ya get a decent speed with one click.
I have the Team Group Elite 2400 DDR4 2x8GB ram kit. I understand it's XMP profiles are loaded on to the RAM so in the bios the XMP is set to disabled and can't be toggled to on. I've been trying to understand why they've chose to do it this way and is there any pros/cons for having it loaded on the RAM versus having the option to have XMP enabled or not. Anyone know or got an opinion?
