Link me to your log build here! I may share your log on the OcUK social pages! :D

Also, what do you guys think about running a competition? Giving away prizes every month to modders? There is so much talent here, so it would be good to gain even more talent, and maybe this will encourage new modders too, to start up a new project!

If you like the idea of the competition, let me know of your ideas and ways which the competition could be held.

Who doesnt like free stuff :)

I would like to see competitions aimed at "unknown" and/or "new" modders.
There are a lot of well know modders on the forums who can get anything they want from Manufactures direct. Is it harst for me to ask for them to be excluded to give other people a "chance"?

@5UB RJK posted a sponsorship thing in the watercooling section to help "modders" something similar to your idea (Was for monsoon fitting/res) but its lost interest and not sure if anyone has heard anything back.

One idea of mine to help new modders would be sell products at Cost Price - Zero Markups as this could mean the difference of £100's pounds and then make projects affordable to more people.

Umm, just a touch confused, does your log need to be finished to be shared?
If not, my builds in my sig, it's getting there but not done yet ;)

I'd love a monthly prize, lets people see how much people enjoy their work (assuming it's a vote system)
I like vote systems, or like, number of unique posters in that build log/thread. so the number of people contributing to the thread/log. it encourages people giving feedback and discussing rather than a weekly image dump of progress

im sure ive discussed this with you before steve, id happily help out with running a comp on here (voting if its not a community vote, or anything else) and id happily take a step back and not enter into the comps.

Its something i think this bored is really missing.

Prize wise, you could do a nice little bundle.

OcUK Mousemat
OcUK Mug
Mouse
keyboard (get a partner involved with these, (CM?)
and something else like a little OCUK MoTM unique prize. I would love to have had something when winning the monthly motm comp at bit-tech to keep that wasnt hardware to show off that i actually did win after the tech stuff has been used and abused!

Give me a shout Steve (il be on fb and skype throughout the next day or two!) if ya want any help etc

Various catagories along the lines of particular cases or themes or colours would limit the sheer amount of great entries otherwise there are too many to choose from. A ton of inspiration out there that a newbie (like me) can draw from.

I'm hoping we hear back on the watercooling sponsor thing so I can get on with my first attempt.

was going to put mine on here but as B Neg has his here and i know his work, i dont think i bother as cant compete with what he does, plus being sponsored gets all the goodies. His in win lumo build was fantastic. :)

Going back to my earlier post, you need delination or something to level the field, this is the last thing you want......

Mads1,sponsorship has very little to do with build quality,I have invested a lot of time into modding over the years which counts for 90% of what you see.
When you grade a mod,do you look at hardware or the whole build as a whole?
Personally, its the modding and skills displayed that matter over what card you have.

For example,LUMO lost MOTM on OCN to Snefs Icy whatever but his build is nigh on stock. a painted mobo cover and a painted, braided PSU......sponsors do not make the build, you do.

And thanks for the kind words about LUMO.I appreciate it!

yes i understand what your saying but i think you have jumped on me here for a wrong reason, i think your work is great and being great, companys use you to give goodies to which is good, nothing i said mentioned anything bad, i read your logs on here and other forums. That is why i said i cant compete, which was all said in a joking manner. And when you get the goodies yes it does help cause it adds to the build quality. If you bought a house and it was nice on the outside and rubbish on the inside you would say? i will remember not to say anything next time........

Im not jumping on you fella, just a conversational post explaining my viewpoint.

I didnt take your post in a negative way at all,it just saddens me to think im putting people off rather than inspiring people to mod......

And it hasnt put me off, it does inspire, ive spoken to you a few times asking about ideas, and in my next build which is soon i hope, im gonna give it a try. Ive always wanted to try hydrographics so i might test that out, but still need to save for some hardware, like motherboard, memory, fittings for my loop which are not cheap, plus im going straight into acrylic so it should be fun learning curve.:D
