Yeh ure reading the thread title correctly.

I has been a idiot again. I bought some air duster for my psu, i sprayed it a bit to close to get all the dust out of it and noticed it was getting wet at the same time.

So me being a smoker and having loads of lighters around thought i should dry it off rather quickly. So i light the light and my whole case became ingulfed in flames with me right beside it. Managed to get the fire out after scorching my carpet and singeing my hair on my arms and face. thought right that was dangerous and looked at the can

EXTREMELY FLAMMABLE

So ive let my psu dry out and cool down after the BBQ it had. Connected a fan controller and some fans and what do you know SHES ALIVE

CAUTION DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME

:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:

What did you think it was. . . . ?

Its a bit like when my lass refilled her zippo and then decided to test it. While her hands were marinaded in petrol. Yes, third degree burns to the fingers. Hospital jobbie.

Never really understood how they can sell those things as "computer safe", when, as you've just demonstrated, they spray a huge amount of solvent everywhere. Silicon doesn't like solvents.

Still, an impressive survival.

Fair point, but its not solvent, its propellant. Usually LPG/butane/isobutane or something similar.

didnt happen unless you post pics :D

also with i dunno, say a can of stella in the pic so we know you didnt just get the pics from the interweb :D lol

Sounds like a lucky escape though.

Lucky it wasnt a hyper. would have gone bang, and taken half the house with it. lol :p

:D Flaming takes a whole new meaning :p.

Just be glad that your not hurt and secondly that your PC is working.

My order of priorities differ from yours :p

A bit more of a close call and we could have submitted you to the Darwin awards!

But like mentioned no pics, so how do we know?

You'll have to re-create the exact event..

recreate the event, yeh right im not that stupid :p. I Can take some pictures of my scorched carper and burnt cushions if ya wanted. Also ill add a can of carling to the pics as thats all i have :D

How is this an air duster if its got propellants in it?

Air dusters are cans of compressed air and nothing more :\ You sure you werent spraying WD40 or Deoderant in there? Did it smell like your armpits? :P

*edit* just checked the ones we stock here and they do have some flamable ingredients :P Sounds a bit retarded to me lol

My one at home from a different brand seems to be more idiot proof lol

Protect your PC first then consider your own safety? :p. :D. I'd put my own safety over £1000 worth of equipment any day lol.

I'd have put the fire out like Dwbreeze1982 did but if it started going out of control then I'd just have a burnt PC :D.
