Pretty sure there's a who's who for this sort of thing. Tesla will be bottom of that list now.
Normally you wouldn't have bare and untreated steel, especially on a car that expensive.

Yeah most cars i've poked around in have lots and lots of unprotected metal inside and it generally has some surface rust on it.
Seems a bit unfair to pick on Tesla for something almost all cars have.

Weird, I've pulled loads of my cars to bits, and never found unpainted metal on the back seats (even on the mini).

Tbf i'd be pretty peeved if I spent however how much a Model 3 commands and seeing rust on it, considering these came out in 2017.
Likewise. All steel and iron is painted to protect it from rust.
But bare metal is not normal. In every car I've had, metal is normally painted to protect it.
I’ve had loads of cars and I’ve never seen interior rust ever...despite replacing whole interiors in the past etc.

I’ve only seen it twice. Once on a 1994 Corsa on the seat rails, even though they were coated either in black paint or a black plastic dip. And once again on a 1991 Fiat Uno, which was that poorly built the speedo was unreadable as it had a 5-10mph “bounce” during normal operation, so the rust was probably on the components before the car was assembled.

There’s no unpainted/uncontested metal in that area or any area I’ve noticed on my Duster.
Somewhat concerning when a budget car made in Romania from mainly Renault parts is built to a highly quality standard than a Tesla.

Even my 10 yr old SEAT Ibiza (as far as I've seen) doesn't have any bare metal inside and I've stripped the backseats right out a few times now. (Damn drunks being sick in my car)

Even my 1980s escort was painted inside. It wasnt painted to the same standard as outside, but the insides were the same paint as the outside.
Maybe some of this goes back to when you actually had exposed metal inside though, I cant think of a modern car where the interior is not covered with something so its probably far less of an issue
