Hi,

I have a fairly oldish PC capable of running XP, but its on a Micro ATX motherboard. There are only 3 PCI slots and 1 ISA Slot.

As PCI slots are sparse, is there any ISA based network cards that I can plug my cable broadband into that will be compatiable with XP?

This would help a lot! :)

my last experience with isa cards was on my old abit BX something or other board with a celeron 350. I had a netgear 10mbit isa card and it really sucked up those cpu cycles, games were slow and the mouse really lagged. after some time, i put a pci ethernet in their and machine was given a new lease of life ! performance went up in everything.

the point to my story is, dont use isa unless ya want the machine to grind ;)

That link looks interesting! Cheers for that.

They look cheap enough just to waste a few quid and try out, so i'll do that and see what sort of performance hit i'll take if any.

Thanks for the replys so far :)
