iSight Camera...Normal or spying on me?

I've got a 2009 MBP and recently upgraded to Mavericks. It has been working really well but I have noticed recently that it has been running quite hot. I've also noticed that the light by the iSight Camera is on. I'm not sure if it was on before or not.

So, is the light on by default or only on when it is in use? Anyway to check if there is a program using the Camera without my knowledge?

The green light only comes on when the camera is activated.

Have you fapped infront of the laptop recently?

If so, you should be able to find out on several well known 'misc' websites

It's likely getting hot because whatever is triggering the iSight also switches in the dGPU. It's typical behavior for apps like Photo Booth.
