ISIL, ISIS, Daesh discussion thread.

people cant agree on the meaning of star wars, to think any consensus will be achieved regarding the Quran is deluded.

What the majority of the Muslims believe is generally accepted as the true meaning of Islam. And that sentiment is shared in that video, these isis are khawarij.

The majority of Star Wars fans are probably aligned with the light side of the force.

But the majority of Muslims can't agree on what they should belive, so accepting anyone's definition of "true" means disregarding eat the actual numerical majority think.

Just like our government the majority of people in the country never vote for the governing party.

Just take whatever ISIS are doing as not being canon. Just shun their ideology and don't label your local muslim as a member of ISIS, tell them you know its not right. It makes more sense to do that when you take numbers into account.

So .. okay in Afghanistan the Taliban are back to full force, attacking airports and making trouble in general. infact the number of Taliban related attacks have gone up since the US pulled out.

So was this Taliban is fighting an invasive force all nonsense? If these groups were springing up and mounting attacks due to invasion from the west, well doesn't practice indicate this was just a smokescreen and lie told by the terrorists?

The basics 5 pillars all Sunni agree and most other things, there are differences and like that video said there are allowed to be differences. Why can Muslims from one country relate culturally to those of another country even though it's a different race?

So what's the difference then between the Sharia law that is enforced in the Islamic State? and the Sharia law that 40% of British Muslims want introduced here?

We have to be OK with the consequences of our governments actions, such as Paris and 7/7, we are at war.

The West is killing innocents by the thousands, the military drone program is “morally outrageous” and “one of the most devastating driving forces for terrorism and destabilization around the world” according to operators in this NBC special report.

Ban them and then nuke them. That will be next... At least he's not as spineless as Corbyn.

Corbyn has spent most of his political career campaigning for what he thinks is right regardless of it's popularity, that isn't spineless. Demagogues like Cameron & Trump are spineless.

it is student politics - no one cares aside from hardcore lefties

if you did an opinion poll you'd get a different result - but people have to actively go and vote on some issue then most people won't be arsed, tis utterly irrelevant to anything whether some student union condemns something - the motions that will get sufficient votes to pass will be the ones supported by the socialist worker society or similar who seem to think it has some meaning

I didn't even know that many muslims wanted sharia law here lol. Where you get that stat from? There's is some kind of psuedo-sharia where they kill anyone that's not them and not follow rules of Jihad. Guess they didn't get the memo saying there's no need for holy war since times have changedl

I'm more interested in the "rebel talks" happening in Riyadh... I think Saudi Arabia is going a bit AWOL with the death of the king.

I also think they'll be broke soon if they keep plowing through their cash reserves...

The line of House of Saud succession is ambiguous once the current King dies as well. All the princes will be jockeying for power - some will back IS, some Al-Queda, some FSA. I do think it's about to get a whole lot messier.

If only people wouldn't take fictional story's as fact.
would have hoped people would put such things behind them by now.

brb going to catch a train to hogwarts.

As long as the price of crude oil stays nice and low, it's only a matter of time until the House of Saud goes broke and the locals express their disapproval kinetically.

Halcyon days.
