Can anyone offer any advice about what to shoot (must see) and where to stay on the Isle of Skye (in early May) ?

I've done the usual Google Image/Maps search.
And got a few locations, which mainly seem to be in the North (that can't be right).
Google Maps seem to be useless at times, finding a location. When I know the name, it just seems to find businesses.

But, my main "problem" is knowing where to stay.
Whether to stay in one location (Portree) for the entire trip and keep drive to and fro, or to maybe stay in 2 locations.

Ideally, I want to stay in a B&B and hotel that's inexpensive.
So if anyone could suggest a town or even specific accommodation, that would be great.

Thank you

last time i was in skye i stayed in the isles inn, in portree. it was cheap and the room was basic but the staff were nice and the food was good. while in portree i went on the sea eagles boat trip which was enjoyable and got some nice photos. i then moved to to the reason i was on skye. talisker distillery, as i planed to have a few drink here there was a great bunk house just beside it, with great views, and for what it was, good food. as a keen hillwalker i then went down to the south of the island and spend a few days round the black cuillins. if you not into walking you can get a boat trip from elgol in to the heart of the cuillins for some good photos

Skye is not big so it doesn't matter too much where you stay unles you hate driving.

To many different locations. Internet will filld you with the classics but the island is covered in great locations, have a look on a map/google map for different lakes and mountains and figure different times of day based on aspect.

The thing is the lighting is so varied and chanageable the possibilities are always changing.

Whenever I have been I just drove around, when it hit 4pm found the nearest B&B and then got back out for the evening light. No idea where I ended up sometimes.
