I was asking people about setups before i bought and everyone said it was Quad core?

But it says dual core on the box :P?

Nope - its a dual core. If someone told you it is a quad core then they don't know what they are speaking about.

It does have hyperthreading which produces two threads per core - so a total of four threads, but it is definitely a dual core. If you are unhappy, return it asap (under DSR) and get an i5 760 which is a true quad core, but costs a fair bit more.

Desktop range only:

i3 5xx: Dual Core + HT
i5 6xx: Dual Core + HT + TB
i5 7xx: Quad Core + TB
i7 8xx/9xx: Quad Core + HT +TB
i7 970/980X/990X: Hex Core + HT + TB

As above, it's a dual core with Hyper Threading making it have 4 cores according to OS's.

And yes you can.

You can verify that HT is on by opening the Task Manager (CTRL+ALT+DEL). If there's 4 graphs in the "CPU Usage History" section on the "Performance" tab, you're fine. If there's only 2, you'll need to find and turn on the HT setting in the BIOS.

It'll almost certainly be on by default though.

Do i have to enable Hyperthreading or anything or do anything or is it already in action

It should be enabled by default. However you can check by pressing Ctrl+Alt+Del and going into task manager, clicking the "Performance" tab and observing four (not two) threads in action. If you only see two then you can go into the BIOS and ensure Intel hyperthreading technology is enabled.
