Isn't OcUK great?

yeah its rather good. always look at it a couple of times a day to keep up to date with tech stuff and whats cheap on steam haha. i just read it for ages without posting and that was entertaining enough and its only this week ive started posting really..

I spend too much time here, but not as much as I used to, trying to cut back.

Same here, I forced myself not to use the internet for a whole day on monday, it was suprisingly hard. It's almost like an alcoholic trying to be sober for a day, you don't realise until you try and stop! :(

I don't post nearly enough tbh, i seem to find myself writing replies then just thinking naaah. Always waste loads of time having a good read though.

Seems to be a good a balance of interesting posts to read and funny ones where people have posted and you know theres going to be hundreds of pages taking the pee out of them.

Plus i like the fact everyone writes in full english it just makes it so much nicer to read.

I love it due to several things

1) blue colour scheme is pleasing to the eye
2) sig size is kept in order
3) no swearing or NSFW posts
4) mostly helpful community.

Any of these change I'll stop posting.

Keep it up mods/dons

EDIT and no TXT SPK.

I die inside when I read the Steam forums

Sad thing is I used to be a big contributor to that place.

Even had an online article written about me on some HL2 site because of a walk through I posted :o

Yes, I agree that at times it's a wonderful place - otherwise why else would I remain a member? - but let's not get into the habit of blowing our own trumpet as it's incredibly unbecoming. Indeed, it's very much in the same guise as those tedious, socially inept popularity contest threads that tend crop up every six months are - it's all about seeking validation from the community:

"Whose forum pasty would you smash?"
"Which member do you like best?"
"If you had to allow a member to ritualistically shave your left testicle whilst others watched, who would they be?"

Why do we need it?

Alright, admitted. The last thread would be quite amusing.

I just read the posts I don't associate a post to a member not remember anything anyone has ever written

Yeah pretty much this, changed the order a little, although I do have OcUk to blame for my electricity bill due to folding, and for buying hardware I don't really need in MM. But those aren't bad things really :)

Once I get into the habit of selling hardware I don't need my OcUK life will be complete.

I spend way to much time on this place.

I'm lucky that my job is relativly stress free and not constantly busy so i can come on here!

I should be studying my ITIL stuff though... oh well!

OCUK is the best forum I know of. I'm currently spending almost all of my time here because I'm pretty much bedridden *sniff*

It has a cast of generally likeable characters and blends the perfect mix of interesting conversations and good old British silliness.

I also enjoy that OCUK have shown a distinct improvement since around September time. GD was an absolute dive around that period. Something to with people going back to school....?

Wow, congrats :)

The main problem I have with them are the massive amount of..
a. idiots
b. posts by those idiots

Other than the censorship and some OTT moderating from time to time, yes I would agree this is quite a nice forum to be part of touch wood.

This!

I enjoy this place for 2 reasons.

1. It's fun!
2. I learn things I otherwise wouldn't have.
3. I have a horrendous habit of checking everyone's grammar and spelling.

:)
Lol....but maths aint your strong point is it?

Agreed. Lots of knowledgable (sp?) people here. Just a shame at how heavily it is actually moderated. Mods hand out suspensions like Michael Jackson used to hand out Werther's Originals.
