I am in the market for a new keyboard. There are a few which are only available in US ANSI layout. I currently use a UK ISO layout everywhere; laptop, desktop, work, etc. Has anyone made the change to an ANSI keyboard and did you like it or hate it? Thanks.

I have a UK ISO for home and a US ANSI for work.

Took about a month to properly get used to US ANSI layout after using UK ISO for decades. Actually prefer US ANSI layout for programming due to backslash key placement.

The only other thing I had to do was set-up Win Key + Space to switch between ENG UK and ENG US thus allowing me to use the '3' key to input '£' symbols.

I know this is an old thread, but does that mean in order to get a £ symbol you have to switch layouts, get £, then switch layouts back?

I'm just looking at the option of getting an ANSI keyboard from the perspective of a Uk user.

Hi,

I created a custom keyboard layout a couple of years a go now, I think the software was made by Microsoft as well. If using a different OS I'm not sure I'm afraid.
