Isolate an image in photoshop?

I dont know if there is any photoshop wizzes on here but can anyone make

Isolated? eg i can just drop it on my gradient background and it will just fit?
Sorry if it doesn't make sense but i am not sure how i can explain it.

It has a transparent background so you should be able to place it on a gradient background fine? If that's what you mean?

Thats what i thought but when i copy and paste it onto my image it comes up with a black background.

Save it as, then import/insert it into your preferred image manipulation program.
