I've fitted a number of isolation valves in my bathroom for the taps and shower. I've noticed that I've fitted one of these with the arrow pointing against the water flow.
It's been working fine with no leaks but wondered if its going to cause an issue in the future?
The valve is going to be kept open and if I did need to shut it off I can shut off the mains water at the main stop tap

Apparantly the ball can drop(or raise) preventing the valve from operating but it shouldn't cause a leak just it may be useless if needed.

Personally id just suck it up and swap it around. Better correct than sorry.

Yes, you don't want to find out that it doesn't work just when you need it.

Of course if its not actually required (why did you install it if it isnt :p) then just ignore it and leave it open forever. It wont do any harm at all left open.

Spoke to a plumber who said it will be fine left open or closed but I'll be leaving it left open anyway. Only installed them as I had exposed pipework for quite a while whilst doing the bathroom then they made it easier to connect the taps etc.
Thanks for the replies .. I'll leave it as it is, fully open and then in the future if I ever need to work on the pipework I'll just replace it.

For the sake of turning off the stoptap and loosening a few nuts you could easily swap it back over if it bothered you.
