I'm currently with O2 broadband and it's time for me to change provider. To be fair O2 are really good, (all be it their internet comes from BE broadband.) As time has gone by though my network size has increased as well as my demand for faster speeds. (I'm also in the process of getting my old server up and running again eventually which will need faster internet.) So rather than go down the route of choosing another ADSL provider, I want to go down the route of fibre optic.
I should have probably done my research before I posted this but that's why I have the lovely people of the Overclocker forum to help me out :p
Although, I have knowledge of only two companies who actually provide fibre optic broadband at the moment. Virgin and BT.
BT infinity is not yet in my area but will be in March 2011. Virgin was the next one on my list but their customer service I've heard is somewhat shocking.
So I wanted to know who has Virgin or BT infinty and how it measures up? Any suggestions on other companies that provide a good service is also welcome.

Thanks in advance people!:D

I think people would tend to recommend VM over BT. 50 meg service is *supposed* to be pretty good, however I last used it in 2001 when it was upped to 2meg. I did however find the supplied cable router to be very good at a time when other ISP's were supplying rubbish...

Although I'd never need it I am interested in the 100mb broadband that Virgin are going to pump out. Granted you want constantly get the 100mb but still speed would never be an issue again. But tell is the customer service from VM really shocking?

I'm on Virgin Media Cable (20MB) and I'm finding absolutely awful. They haven't been that bad for the past 3 years I've been using them but recently the performance of the connection isn't consistent at all. It can change every 10 minutes, from getting 50/100 ping in games to 15k and it can go back to normal within 10 minutes but that time frame isn't often as you can imagine. That time frame can range from 10 minutes to all day.
