Hi Guys,

I recently got my MAC code from SKy as I'm swapping to o2 broadband. I have just ordered o2 now entering the MAC code so it's all go.

Do Sky see this and cancel my account? I first emailed them telling them to cancel and give me my MAC code but not sure they cancel it?

Thanks,

Andy

By requesting your MAC code from Sky they should have cancelled your account. Give them a call to confirm this.

I've just done this via Fax and had a confirmation via e-mail saying that they have cancelled my account and to use the MAC code within 30 days.

Sky should be informed when you've migrated and stop taking money appropriately.

Be wary of using the word "cancel" in case they take you at your word and cancel the ADSL service altogether...

In my experience you should ring them regardless, I moved from AOL about 18 months or so ago and much to my ignorance despite them released my MAC code to my new provider they still kept charging me 3/4 months on

Took me best part of a year to get a refund on the money that they had taken and that was without the money spent on ringing them and being put constantly on hold/repeating the situation to every single Indian I spoke too
