We are changing over to Bulldog from BT (Prodigynet was our ISP, who are now bust so we have no internet) and our landlord received a letter on the 9th Jan stating that the phoneline would not be avaliable until the 20th Febuary, a full 6 weeks! Is this normal? Is this changeable and is this complainable?

So essentially we will have no internet for 6 weeks - what can we do? HAs anyone else had to wait this long?

Thanks guys:)

Its not Bulldogs fault, the letter was from BT! Cant I shout at them to get them to hurry up or no we have zero leg to stand on? :(

Well it takes 10 working days to do a transfer over to Bulldog from BT from the day Bulldog put in the request. And knowing bulldog the request wont have been put in on the day you ordered their service.

Would it not be the previous ISP who have to release the line back to BT?

I had a similar problem this week. When i rang BT to get my line reactivated they had to allocate me a different number as my previous ISP ( Talk Talk ) hadnt yet released the line back to BT, and it was back in november when i cancelled the talk talk account.

And to top it off BT asked for a £50 deposit :(

Thats purely based on a credit check tho and nothing to do with who owns the line now or who had it previously. Plus you get it back after 12 months with interest i might add :)

We notified Bulldog around Jan 5th, and BT sent us the letter on the 9th, so Bulldog requested pretty quickly, but I have no idea how they can justify 6 weeks?? Can I complain to OFCOM?
