Hi there. Looking to be changing ISP's in the near future, currently on a 2mb Tiscali unlimited package. The performance during the evenings and weekends is total crap to be honest and therefore looking to migrate.

I have phoned Tiscali asking for the MAC code, they said I'd get one via email within 5 days. I've read around that this isn't usually the case and it is a big hassle trying to get your MAC from Tiscali. Has anyone had any experience of this?

Next onto the future ISP. I've read around a lot as a guest that UKFSN or ADSL24 is the way to go and I'm currently looking into going for the 30/300 package which sounds good. Would I see a dramatic improvement from this?

Here some spec I've found from my router -
SNR Margin - Downstream 31dB, Upstream 30dB
Line attenuation - Downstream 10dB, Upstream 5dB
Data Rate - Downstream 2272kbps, Upstream 288kbps.

Now, I've also looked at what is the max performance I could get, I think it ranged from 5.7mb to 7.5mb.

So a little help here needed as you can see. Thankyou for reading!

No experience with tiscali but it shouldn't be a hassle to get a mac code. Recently a new law came in which meant a mac code would have to be given within 5 days.

The stats are really good so I would think you would get the full 8mb on adsl max or about 20mb on llu with be.

Is there any LLU providers in your area?

If there isn't I would go with ADSL24 as they should be much faster than tiscali.

Unfortunately, no LLU providers in my area. And I think what I was reading about Tiscali could have been old news.

Thanks for the help, and yes I am looking forward to migrating to ADSL24!
