Hi All I,m looking to change my isp ,i,m with Nildram , and its getting really bad now ! i,ve read that the Enta resellers are having problems with the speeds etc ,and i was going to move to one of them ,but now i,m unsure ,is it worth it ? or maybe pay more and go with fast.co.uk ,which i don,t really want to ,as there limits are lower than Enta .I,ve also looked at Be which is cheaper , but unsure of there monthly download /upload limits ? any ideas or views would be helpful ...thanks:confused:

From what I have "read" BE are Number one.
I've been on NTL/Virgin since forever & it has been Rock solid with No downtime & Never capped. Having said that though I live in a smallish town in the Midlands rather than an area with a high contention rate & I'm not one of those Broadband abusing download whores who STEAL (:p) from poor corporate companys who are struggling to manage there accounts (:p)
Check around locally for contention rates & local opinion as it does change massively from area to area.
BE definetly sounds the firm to go with these days though ;)

enta were having problems, however they seem to have sorted them out. if you cant get Be in your area i would reccomend enta, however probs go for adsl24 over ukfsn as ukfsn seem to be run from a bedroom, i think the support and control panel is dire!

Be/o2 have a fair usage policy but don't impose any hard download/upload limits, supposedly you need to do something like 4TB a month to get their attention. It's as good as unlimited and better than anything you'll get via ADSL Max (Entanet or otherwise). Unless your exchange has been enabled for WBC that is, in which case you can get Be/o2 like service through Entanet resellers (Be/o2 still win on price and limits though).

Be has gone **** up at the moment for a lot of users, so I don't rate them that highly - been like this for 3 months. Anyone who's with Be can see for themselves on the members forum.

Currently lots of people are getting disconnections and download speeds of no more than 200KB/Sec.

Hi thanks for that ,and yeah i,m reading a lot of problems with Be Unlimited ,and now i read that my exchange is getting 21CN WBC (Broadband) in March 09, with up to 24meg i,m thinking of going with Enta and then just upgrade to ADSL+2 service in March 09 sound a good idea ?

I've been with Be for a few days so far, and so far so good, but then I tend not to object if it drops to, say, 200KB/s. I do object if it goes much below that, and take exception when providers give me 10KB/s and say they can't fix it (even if I was slightly 'abusing' my service profile). :)

As with all providers, YMMV.

I've just gone from a £24.99 service with BT to O2's basic service and it is so far much faster, more reliable and of course cheaper, they also have a UK based free call centre.

£7.50 for upto 8mb (and that's what they actually deliver) to people with an 02 phone.

i,m thick ! sort of lost the thread ,what has maxed out at 12.76mbps ?

12.76mbps for a month = 4Tb ish? therefore it's possible...at a guess.

Why don't you just help him and be more specific rather than condescending? Sigh.

He did:confused:

You what? "The post directly above mine" isn't specific enough? Might I recommend reading what's posted before jumping in with both feet.

If you're still not getting it (in which case I'd suggest boxing up the computer and taking it back), CurlyWhirly asked if 4TB a month was possible on ADSL2+. It's 12.76Mbps 24/7 for a month, so it is...

Actually posting random facts like "It's maxing out 12.76Mbps constantly for a month, so yeah..." leaving it open ended and then replying "read above" isn't very helpful is it when he doesn't understand? Especially when he doesn't know what the heck you're on about. The fact he even said he didn't understand was the biggest clue. :p So actually if you can't be bothered to explain youself then why bother posting at all?

Maybe next time you should consider that posting random facts left open ended and without meaning isn't always strictly going to make sense to everyone. ;)

:)
