Netgear and AOL is probably the worst combination for any internetings. There are people who will disagree but I fully stand by that comment.
Get a Linksys router and change ISP when you get a chance.
I disagree, Netgears are one of the better router manufacturers out there - this is more than likely an ISP issue.
Try adjusting the MTU Size from 1450/1458 to 1400 in the 'WAN Setup' section in your router.

Like I said, I stand by my comment that Netgear sucks nuts. Obviously people will have different views based on personal experiences I exclusively use Linksys equipment in client sites. Plug in, configure and forget.
Netgear equipment on the other hand has made me lots of money, so I guess they serve a purpose!![]()
It'll be congestion or how the traffic shaping works on their servers, as posted above - change ISP asap, theres probably more chance of pigs flying than them admitting an issue (after you've done multiple laps round indian call centres) and resolving it to your satisfaction.
