Does anyone know which ISP provides a dynamic ip that changes everytime you switch the router off? Seems a simple question but difficult to find an answer to.

Neither of them are great, so it's just chosing the *best* brand.

If we're talking Essentials routers, the Echolife HG521 is pretty terrible for wireless. The amount of times I've had to drop the router from WPA to WEP to get devices to connect is crazy.

Almost all UK providers use dynamic IPs unless you pay extra for a static or have some form of business account with them.

But most are fairly sticky due to the way they're allocated, it's not DHCP (despite cheap router manufacturers love of labelling it as such) and it works a bit differently. Basically, don't be shocked if you keep the same address for a while before it reallocates...

Yeah.. I've had the same IP from Virgin ever since I joined them 15 months ago. Even after upgrading from 20 to 50Mb.

So basically, stay away from VM lol :p
