Issue in Safari following phishing email

Hi All

I’ve opened a phishing email this morning on web based Hotmail on Safari. It was one of the usual ‘pay us or we will show your family you’ve been watching porn’ type email (I don’t watch porn but that’s besides the point) so I’ve reported it as phishing and it’s done the usual and automatically deleted. I only opened it as it was made to look like it had come from my own email address.

I’ve changed the password on the account anyway and the following two times I tried to use my hotmail I got a little box appear that said ‘secure’ in it and the only option was to hit close. I didn’t hit close since it didn’t look like a genuine thing. Instead I shut down safari and cleared the memory on the iPad. Since I’ve been able to log in as normal

Is this the after effects of opening the dodgy email please or just Safari having a funny five minutes? Do I need to be concerned that someone has had access to my email? I’ve never seen any kind of pop up type box appear in Hotmail other than to undo.

Thanks
