Issue opening folders :S

I have prob with my PC - I can't open any folder either by double clicking or right click and "open" - nothing happens

If I try "Documents" or "Computer" off the start bar, nothing and control panel shows an empty pane and I have to shut it down through task manager

Its Win7 x64 Pro

Ive tried:

System Restore
Safe Mode
Start up repair install from the OS Disc
Task Manager > Applications > New Task > Browse (wont open a dialogue box!)
Control Panel (from Start Bar) > Right Click to get recent apps then any recently used application


Its really doing my head in and really CBA doing a fresh install

I can open documents from desktop / links / start bar but not folders

Anyone got any thoughts ?

Open an Admin command prompt and type sfc /scannow which will run the system file checker then restart once it's finished.

Make a new user and use that account.
