issue or no? Mouse stutters in bios

hey every one!

i recently upgraded to a ryzen 1500x
i also have a prime a320k motherboard one thing ive noticed tho
when ever im in the bios and move my mouse cursor around it like stutters and hangs every so often
but when im in windows it doesnt do this..
i think ive read some where online if mouse stutters in bios its a bad sign?
got me kinda worried...

is it normal or issue have any of you seen this before???

From experience, some UEFI's work better than others for mouse controls.

Depends - the BIOS doesn't have any mouse "drivers" so it just does the best it can with whatever mouse is connected - but in most cases it should only be a little bit choppy if it isn't particularly compatible with your mouse - if you are getting prolonged pauses and lots of stutter rather than it just being a little choppy then that could indicate a problem.

BIOS usually lacks any kind of threading or software polling so if it gets busy input will suffer and occasionally pause while the BIOS is busy with a feature.

well im not sure if its an issue and it does freeze for like a half a second like it hangs for a half a second then its fine then it does it again etc,,
but this does not happen in windows or anything only during the bios
so not sure if its an issue or not do you think its is by any chance?
cause you got me worried because it does hang or freeze for a half a second tho

I'm talking like 3-4 seconds pauses that aren't in response to selecting an option, etc. due to lack of mouse drivers in the BIOS and the way the BIOS works things like random half second pauses aren't unusual.

My bios has a mouse sensitivity option that I'd never spotted until someone on here mentioned it, maybe yours does too, problem solved!
