I tried rooting my n7100 this evening using the instructions on Android Central for keeping this as close to stock as poss. I'm on Android 4.3, everything seemed to go ok I had a pass on the odin program, but Samsung keeps blocking it with some security policy message.

Any ideas?

Message is somewhere along the lines of "Unauthorised access to a secured area...."

You can try just updating the SuperSU from the play store and then running that as I think that's all that's needed. It should disable knox or something and then reboots the phone. Once rebooted it should be rooted.

Sorry it's not very detailed, but I got the information on what to do by googleing the error message when I rooted mine.

That doesn't appear to be an option, if I look for it on the play store all I can do is open the version that's already installed, or at least try to because when I do Knox blocks it

If it's been updated at any point it's probably running the latest bootloader which has knox IIRC and it's a bit more complex to root - Could be wrong here as I've not had a Note II for several months so unsubscibed to all NoteII threads on XDA about it.

By the sounds of that error it looks like this is what's happening :S

Ah at least that method should work, looks like similar thing to early Note 3 root methods which tripped it whereas now you have "warranty safe" methods on it.

Samsung and their infinite wisdom to keep "secure" eh :p
