Been experiencing an issue with what all i can assume, to be by motherboard.

Basically, over the past few days i have had an issue with my PC turning its self off, them right back on again. The reason i think its my board is because the issue seems to disappear when reset my overclocking profiles. I was also experiencing an annoying double boot issue that seemed to disappear when i updated my BIOS.

Any body got any ideas? or do you think i just can't run an overclock at all?

Thanks in advance.

If it's only restarting when the overclocking profile is enabled, it could be the system isn't receiving enough juice.

Check the CPU voltage is set to 1.3v and the Change the Phase Locked Loop (CPU PLL) to around 1.9v

Also increment the memory controller voltage (VCCIO) and the System Agent voltage (VCCSA) to 1.1v and 1v respectively but no higher than this.

Cheers mate, ill give this a shot. I'm currently in the process of having my PC on for a 6 hour stint or so just to confirm its down to OC'ing.

Had this problem many moons ago with my old 4400X2 and it was because the psu had just got too old and wasn't upto supplying the juice the overclock needed. Hope it is something simple for you to fix m8 :).

So I've been playing battlefield 3 ALL day with no funny turns @ stock settings on my board. I'm going to try and give it a nice OC to 4.5 and see what's occuring, i will take into account PLL and VCCSA. I'll keep you updated.

So its back up at 4.5Ghz now and increased the PLL to around 1.86 and the VCCSA and VCCIO have been increased slightly too.

Few episodes of breaking bad later and a bowl of cereal, 6 hours have passed on prime, top temp of any core was 73c. So i can tell the OC is fine.

I guess time will now only tell if anything goes funny.

Edit: Just played a game of BF3 ... everything seemed to be fine for a while, then it decided to randomly shut off :(. Back to stock clocks again.
