Did the new engineer confirmed if the over pressure valve is faulty? That would let the water out via a pipe rather than leaking it into the house at a joint.

Yeah, there is nothing coming out the pipe outside.

How long does it take to lose pressure? If it’s dropping one bar overnight then it’s more than likely on the downstairs circuit. You would think losing that much water if it was on the upstairs circuit it would likely show up on the ceiling somewhere. So if you was going to lift the floor up boards up i would start there.

Usually about 4-5 hours. Id have to fill it a couple of times a day.

There is only one radiator upstairs, and I can't see any stains on the ceilings, yet. Although a lot of them have had plaster board put over then at some point, so they'll be quite thick.

Well... I pulled up the only floorboard that's screwed in rather than nailed (they're actually MDF boards) in the dining room, close to the kitchen as that's where the boiler is, and it's got foam insulation boards between all the joists. Glad it's there, but I don't know where to get under the floor now!

We've only been here about 6-7 months, so hopefully I can find somewhere that's easier to get under without disturbing the insulation.

Surely when you have a boiler installed and it causes problems, one they did not do it right, two they created a problem. We had a Worcester Bosch fitted in May, the company had quite specific conditions for fitting their boiler before they would issue a guarantee.

They should never have swapped to a combi from a conventional boiler without pressure testing the pipes, although that is more for the existing hot water than the heating as it would not have been under pressure before. Get a competent plumber out that can actually diagnose where the issue is and then fix it. The problem with companies like boxt etc is that their engineers are not relying on word of mouth and local trade to get jobs and therefore the need to provide decent after sales service just isn't there.
