Just wondering if anyone else had this issue.

Ive updated the the latest firmware and software but my keyboard generates a random 'blinking' at certain times. If i run it on a rainbow wave pattern, some keys will either lag behind or randomly switch to another colour. Has anyone else experienced this?

Kind regards

I've not experienced that exact issue, but it did take 3 attempts for the Corsair software to update the firmware! It got stuck at 3% twice which caused the keyboard to freeze "mid rainbow". I've heard the keyboard is more stable when using both plugs with USB 2.0 connectors instead of USB 3.0... Not sure how true this is though? My keyboard connector is using USB 2.0 while the extra USB power connector is plugged in to a USB 3.0 port. Seems to work fine so far :).

One thing I don't like is the uneven backlighting on the keys that have more than one character or symbol etc.. The number keys for example as the numbers are dim but the symbols above them (on the same key) are perfectly lit. That's my only gripe really...

Hey man,

thanks for replying. I didn't know about the USB situation, id of thought the superior ports would work best but i will definitely try your suggestion out tonight!

Yeah the firmeware ive tried every week, like you said it either stalls or i feel like it did close to nothing anyway.

Yeah i agree with that, if you look at the enter key, its kind of only half way lit. You'd of thought they would have nailed the illumination by now but its not 100% evenly distributed throughout the board.

I got the rapidkey speed mx version and love the actuation distance.

Thanks!

Not sure if it will help. But when mine is plugged into a hub at times it does odd things and does not properly update. To resolve the issue I plug both USB 3.0 cables direct into motherbaord rear I/O and it resolves the issues and updates properly. Can be really flakey at times these boards IMO.

Hey.

I am plugged directly into the motherboard which is what has been baffling. I will try out different port combinations and if it continues ill contact corsair.

A couple of fine points extend beyond the key layout. First, the K65 RGB's cable comes with two USB connectors, and it requires two USB ports. Or at least, that's what the nine-page insert that comes in the box states: "Both USB connectors are required to be plugged in for the keyboard to function." Fortunately, the Quickstart Guide (available as a download from Corsair's Web site, along with the impressive User's Manual) states that you need to employ two USB ports if they're USB 2.0. A single USB 3.0 port will do, as we discovered in our tests.

Connecting via USB 3.0 Use one connector (the one with the keyboard icon) when connecting via USB 3.0

Connecting via USB 2.0 Use both connectors when using USB 2.0. Important Note: Plug in the connector with the two arrows icon first, and the connector with the keyboard icon second.

The older model had issues too they still never fixed this? So it works fully on a usb 3.0 port with all functions right? Could someone test that?

From personal experience, the functionality of the keyboard via the single USB 3.0 Is flawless. However, the lighting on the sequences does flicker randomly on keys that are meant to be solid colour (such as spiral raindbow).

This only occurs during sequenced patterns and does not occur otherwise.

I cant say for sure yet if i have a bad board or this is an issue with all RGB models.

I am currently testing different port configs to see if this changes anything.

Thats fine no need mate i dont personally use anything but a solid color pattern but spamming caps lock used to cause issues too there is someone who does it for twenty seconds and then causes lockups. Others claim it just can vanish from windows lol.

I went to the Corsair forum and its basically fix after fix after fix and i was like wow do i really want to go here and risk this because frankly i have other keyboards and only a single 3.0 port. But i really like this one for putting in my rucksack. So if you reckon its fine i will take the gamble.

Yeah the beauty of the new software is that you can create a profile that allows you to command any key.

I totally understand, I recommend it 100%, the actuation distances on the speedmx switches are insane. Especially come in handy for double 'Q' clicks on sniper rifles.

Honestly, its only the rainbow spiral lighting effect that the keyboard seems to struggle with. But yes, this shouldnt be the case

1. Reinstall the software.
2. Change USB ports.

If problem persisted, RMA.

Hey mate I have no issues at all, Single 3.0 port no lag and im just using a simple red per button lighting layout for WSAD. Very pleased that something so powerful is so compact. Also noticed the q fast switch being incredibly fast. :)
