Issue with earphones

Hi all

Have some decent Sony earphones, had them for a while now.

Just trying to use them with my iPod and for some reason as soon as i insert the bud in to my left ear the sound becomes dull/muted. I've swapped the rubber bits around from left to right and it's the same. If i take the rubber bit off and put that in my ear it's fine - but not very comfy!

Any ideas? I'm pretty sure my ears are clean before anyone asks!

These:

I forget the name. They've been spot on since I've had them...great earphones. They hadn't been used for a few weeks until the other day and I noticed the problem. I've swapped the rubber bits over, nothing. I just tried them in different ears and the problem seems to follow the left ear bud...in my right it it does the same thing.

Thing is; if i push the left bud in at an odd angle (ouch) the sound opens back up.

It's happening with anything i use. I've plugged my trusty Sennheisers in to the iPod and they're fine.

Will have to take them back to the shop. Darn.
