Got virgin 30mb Internet a couple of days ago. Main PC is next to super hub hard wired. I get very poor speeds of 1-2mb/s. but my wireless devices around the house are 20+mb/s. also if I plug the laptop in via Ethernet cable the speed is 30mb/s.

This leads me to think it is something on my desktop (spec below). What could lead to this issue on my desktop? If I take the Ethernet cable out and connect the desktop wirelessly, the speeds are still 1-2 mb and the signal strength is fairly low even though the super hub is on top of the pc.

Virgin media engineers can't work it out either!

I have - nothing shows up.

Another interesting thing is my old Dell PC hard wired is getting 31Mb/s every time. Just my new PC is the issue. I just can't think what is causing the dreadful speeds.

Avast antivirus? Firewall?
