Morning,
Recently had water pump go on my Coolit domino..so got the replacement and unplugged everything then put everything back together and powered up...no monitor...unplugged graph card , checked power etc etc etc ..and eventually got the screen back on by wiggling the HDMI cable at the back off the monitor...although the colours at boot up seemed a bit odd (the windows 7 logo had red pixelations arround it..)
So unplugged the cable and checked it /tried another cable..same issue..
Cables look perfectly normal..
checked inside the port and noticed that the hdmi port looks a bit off...the plastic bit in the middle is not straight and as a result some of the copper strands are not in the correct place....
The card is 1 year old in October....but before I raise an RMA with OC...what are my chances..or am i looking at using another off the ports ( which is a shame as just convinced the misses that a second 24 inch monitor would help her eye sight)
I never noticed this when installing the card, but then i had gleefully just taken delivery off the card so never gave the card a full inspection..
I can not see anything that would cause the HDMI port to deform like that (the hdmi cable is perfectly true and works perfectly with other hdmi equipment)..
Thoughts...
Regards
Ray
