Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum so be gentle :o

I have an LG e2250v monitor plugged in to my system and have been experiencing issues with certain games.

The most recent and noticeable game has been Portal (1). I have noticed the issue in the past, particularly cut-scenes in Mass Effect (1).

Basically, on portal when turning the character left or right, the picture becomes disjointed. Its hard to explain. Imagine the image has gone through a shredder, and some of the pieces moved out of line. The picture has horizontal lines going across the screen and you can tell that it doesn't quite line up. This only happens with that monitor, as when I window the game and move it to my 2nd monitor (LG HD TV on the wall) the problem disappears.

In fact, there are no visible lines that go across the screen. Its literally as if someone has sliced the picture in places, and shifted the slices left or right.

I know it's not the graphics card. The issues with Mass Effect were happening when I had my old GPU (nVidia 8800GT) and bought a new one a few weeks ago. I now have an nVidia 560 Ti OC and am experiencing the same issues.

Just for a bit more info, I have the e2250v as my primary monitor, have an old Acer 17" as my 2nd monitor, except for when watching movies, at which point I use my LG TV as my 2nd monitor.

Any help would be much appreciated. I know there is not a strain on the graphics card as I can see its usage via a GPU monitor on my 2nd screen.

Many thanks :)

I have not. I will try it when I get home. Thanks.

Seems odd that it only appears on some games. e.g. on mass effect, the GPU was sitting at 2% on the cut-scenes but tearing was horrible :(
